In the old days, we used to do all our editing this way. This meant copying particular footage from all the source tapes to a master tape, in the order specified by the customer. We would then use this master tape to produce all the necessary copies.
Well, times have changed… We do all our editing using computers now.
The exception to this rule would be when we put more than one tape on to a DVD. We still do it the old fashioned way in most cases, because it is more economical for the customer. This is OK, as long as the customer in not looking for a perfect outcome, as the process is a bit different, because you cannot re-edit what has been written to the disc.
We recommend, that whenever possible, to use our computer editing services.
